************************************************** GOOD NEWS: Congressman Kim voted to pass the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 and President Joe Biden signed it into law on August 16, 2022. The new law will deliver huge savings and peace of mind for seniors in our community by finally allowing Medicare to negotiate for lower drug prices after decades of opposition from Big Pharma, saving seniors thousands of dollars according to AARP. The out-of-pocket cost of insulin is now capped at $35 per month for seniors on Medicare and thanks to Congressman Kim. This is scheduled to begin in 2023. With the Capping Drug Costs for Seniors Act, seniors on Medicare won’t pay more than around $166 per month ($2,000 per year) on prescription drugs. ( Scheduled to begin in 2025.)
